To create a blank with ultimate compressional and torsional rigidity, engineers employed two top-tier Shimano manufacturing processes—Spiral X and Hi-Power X. These processes prevent the blank from twisting and rolling, enhancing accuracy and control when casting big baits while providing increased power for battling large fish. Durable components like a custom carbon fiber-infused CI4+ reel seat and double-foot Fuji K-Frame guides with SiC inserts are built to withstand the strain of bulky, long-range bait deployment and retrieval. To ensure superior grip and comfort, all rods in the Outlier series feature thoughtfully designed custom spiral EVA handles with durable heat-wrapped exteriors, minimizing angler fatigue and allowing for extended sessions on the water.
